About us

The overall aim of the Consortium is to support the operational objectives of the six probation areas and the strategic priorities of the National Probation Service. 

Our key functions:

• Managing regional recruitment and selection of Trainee Probation Officers
• Managing training programmes, principally the Diploma in Probation Studies (DipPS)
• Managing the assessment and accreditation of staff, principally as the region's NVQ Assessment Centre
• Training and development of Probation Service Officers (PSOs)
• Managing the training, assessment and accreditation of staff as tutors on national Accredited Programmes.
